On February 23rd, 2020 Sant Nirankari Mission – Raleigh, NC participated in Tree Plantation Drive with the assistance of ‘Trees of the Triangle’ on the occasion of 66th birth anniversary of Late. Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. The drive was conducted at Cary Tree Archive around Cary Parkway to spread awareness about the importance of trees & illustrate the physical as well as psychological benefits of trees to the mankind.
Sant Nirankari Mission expounds that human being is the only out of all the species in the world blessed with intellect to attain God Knowledge and attain the ultimate aim of life. Even though bestowed with intelligence, humans still have been found abusing our surrounding causing an environmental imbalance.
Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji throughout His life preached humans to perform activities to improve the environment as He was a firm believer in “Pollution is harmful, be it inside or outside”. If our environment is polluted, it is impossible to have a non-polluted body and mind to attain God knowledge. The only means to achieve it is by purifying our environment and the simplest way for humans to perform it is by planting new trees around habitation.
Keeping these teachings into account and under the guidance of current leader of the Mission Satguru Mata Sudiksha Hardev Ji Maharaj, followers of the mission participate in activities like cleanliness, tree plantation, etc. throughout the world.
On this occasion the executive director of Trees for Triangle - Mr. David Klemp, Archivist- Mr. George McDowell along with the Mayor of Morrisville, NC - Mr. T.J. Cawley were present. The Mayor participated in planting trees as well as showed his appreciation & gratitude toward Sant Nirankari Mission Raleigh, NC for initiating a behavior that people around will follow to enhance our environment.
